Mr. MacKenzie-Scholastic Book Orders

Hey, Sabers! Scholastic book orders for November are going out today, including a special teen catalogue! Book orders will be due back to Mr. MacKenzie this Friday, November 15th. If you do not receive them from your teacher, please see Mr. MacKenzie in room 2208.

 

Cheerleading Team List - N-Brown-Dunthorne

 Thank you to the students that attended tryouts for the Saber Competitive Cheer Team. The list of athletes that made the team is posted on the athletic information board outside of Mr Ross's classroom and outside of the main office. Congratulations to you all! First practice will be on Thursday November 14th at the ICE Gym. See the team list for more information.

Intramural Hockey-Mr. Davies

 This program begins Friday November 22. Schedules and team lists will be posted by Friday. There will be a meeting for all players at flex time on Thursday.

 

Beginner Hockey-Mr. Davies

 There is a meeting at recess for ALL players participating in beginner hockey. This program starts in two weeks. Please meet in Mr. Davies’ room as soon as the recess bell goes. 

Caribou Math Contest - Mrs. Davies

The second math contest will take place tomorrow and Thursday. McAdoo, Macmillan, and Hines' grade 6 classes along with the grade 7 and 8s will write tomorrow during the first 2 periods. The rest of the grade 6 classes will write the first two periods on Thursday. Please check the bulletin board outside the office to check that your name is on the list to write and the time you are writing. There will be a question on mathematician Emmy Noether so please visit the history page on the Caribou website and read the short passage about her. The interactive question this month is "Chomp" which can be found on the games page. Mrs. Davies will be in her room during recess and flextime today if you have any questions about the contest.

 

Curling

 Anyone interested in learning how to curl can try it out at the Windsor Curling club on Monday nights from 5 until 6. If they want to continue with the school, we will be having practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 to 630. Any questions please see Mr. Ross.

Basketball tryouts

Boy’s basketball will have their first tryout, right after school tomorrow (Wednesday) in the small gym. Girls basketball will have their first tryout on Friday, right after school, I’m the large gym. If you are interested in playing basketball please sign up just outside of Mr. Ross’ room in the grade 8 wing.

Music - Mr.Dunlop

A reminder to Concert Band students that there is a practice tomorrow morning. Any Grade 6 student wanting to take part in a Christmas Concert performance can bring their lunch to the music room this week. A reminder that all Pie forms and money must be returned to Mr.Dunlop no later than November 18th.

Fitness Make-up - Mrs. Isenor

 Any Phys. Ed. students who missed a fitness assessment for Mrs. Isenor during term one should meet in the large gym during flex on Friday to complete the assessment. Your name will be on the homework list but you do not have to attend homework club, just make sure you are in the large gym at flex on Friday.

Skilled Futures - Ms. Wellwood

All skilled futures participants who are heading to NSCC this Friday are asked to see Ms. Wellwood today at the beginning of lunch to pick up a consent form for transportation.

Cafeteria - Ms. Macumber

Today's lunch in the cafeteria is a Pepperoni Pizza Slice. We will also have sandwiches and subs. Just a reminder there is hot chocolate available every morning and at recess for $2.00.
